“Thirumalaikodi has become the cynosure of all eyes in the world. Above all, you should enquire why a highly sophisticated and most modern hospital, which should be located in a well-developed metropolis, has been set up in this rural area. The wealthy can go anywhere and get medical relief with their abundant resources. But the rural poor cannot go far from their villages for treatment. It is for the sake of such poor folk that this hospital has been established. This is a gigantic project. It is intended to benefit people for a thousand years. This hospital has been set up to provide relief to villagers suffering from ailments. No distinction is made, however, between villages and cities. Diseases do not afflict only villagers. Sickness makes no territorial distinctions. Likewise, there will be no differentiation in proving relief. Our intention is to provide relief to all, who come.”

Sri Narayani Hospital & Research Centre

Sri Sakthi Amma’s first move into the field of public healthcare started with a mobile clinic, in 2001. Doctors would travel to villages, and provide consultations for free. The high demand for healthcare facilities opened the door to establishing multiple medical facilities for the local communities, beginning with Sri Narayani Hospital and Research Centre. The medical services provided through these healthcare programs are wide-ranging. They include outreach programs; clinics and two hospitals facilitating pediatrics, neo-natal care, dialysis, intensive care, cardiology, obstetrics, gynecology, urology, ENT, radiology, oncology, and physiotherapy.

Surgeries are provided in the areas of ophthalmology, cardiology, orthopedics, urology, gynecology, dental, and neurosurgery. A pathology laboratory offers on-site evaluation for the early detection of cancer. The accessibility of such medical support has been life-changing for thousands of families. Amma’s vision of affordable healthcare for people in need has become a reality, which strengthens with each passing day.

“It usually comes as a surprise to the many who visit rural Thirumalaikodi: that such a modern multi-disciplinary hospital like this can exist in this remote hamlet of Tamil Nadu.

Equipped with high-end diagnostic tools and sophisticated state-of-the-art medical facilities, along with the full complement of dedicated support staff necessary,

the Sri Narayani Hospital and Research Centre is borne of the rich wisdom that health is the basic birthright of all, irrespective of one’s social status, or financial standing.

As such, everyone automatically qualifies for relief here, simply because all deserve to enjoy health… we make no exception, and no distinction of class, nor creed.

After all, diseases never make distinctions; and neither should our provisions for their relief.”
