NEW NATARAJAR TEMPLE

NEW NATARAJAR TEMPLE

Guru Poornima is always very special, this year even more so. This Guru Poornima, Sri Sakthi Amma is launching a special fundraiser to build the Natarajar Temple at Sri Narayani Peedam. This is an extraordinarily rare opportunity for all devotees to participate.

Join us in expressing profound gratitude to Sri Sakthi Amma, who leads and guides us to have peace and joy in our lives, enlightens us, and removes all the negative forces and qualities that make us ignorant.

Help contribute towards the building of the Natarajar Temple.  As Amma stated, the ultimate purpose of a temple is to receive universal energy from nature and to focus and concentrate this energy which is distributed to everyone who comes to the temple. Once we go and stand in front of the Divine, the predominant energy of the Divine connects with us and influences us. And once we connect with That, we also become That: we become Divine.

Contributing to the building of a temple is a unique blessing with significant and lasting reverberations. As long as the temple exists, the soul will continuously receive blessings and good karma because the temple brings peace and joy to the world.

Let's take this opportunity to appreciate and celebrate Sri Sakthi Amma's Grace and contribute towards the building of the Natarajar Temple.

The Significance of Guru Poornima

There is one special and holy full moon day each year that is celebrated to honor all gurus, and it is known as Guru Poornima. There are many reasons to call this day Guru Poornima: one reason is that Maharishi Vyasa, who explained the meaning of the Vedas and the Puranas (holy teachings) which form the basis of Hindu Dharma, was born on this day. In addition to this, great saints like the Buddha have attained Salvation on this day. There are several such great occurrences on this special Guru Poornima day.

The guru who leads and guides us is very important. A guru is not there just for those six months, but all through the years. Our guru brings and bestows auspiciousness upon us. The earth has different times and seasons: even though the sun shines all year long, the duration and brightness varies every six months. However, our guru is always with us: to guide us to have peace and joy in our lives, and also to remove all the negative forces and qualities which make us ignorant…

All devotees can pray to their gurus thus:

Please guide and bless us and protect us from any sins
which we might commit either knowingly or unknowingly.
Please remove all negative qualities from us.
